Meet Richa
Thank you for visiting my campaign website! Since 2018, it’s been my privilege to represent the residents of Foster City on the City Council, and in my current role as Mayor. My husband and I have raised our 2 children here in our community which values families, diversity, and unparalleled quality of life. But we face the challenges of a modern region.
I have successfully faced these challenges while working collaboratively to maintain and improve issues of safety, health, infrastructure, environment, and financial stability. I’m running for re-election to continue this important work and ensure our community is poised for a vibrant future.
I will continue to leverage my experience, leadership, and over two decades of financial expertise to safeguard our quality of life and make fiscally responsible decisions on issues including:

Vision & Priorities
Public Safety
I will continue my support of well- funded police and fire departments. This includes state-of-the-art training for public safety personnel, and a focus on community policing.
Fiscal Responsibility
Address post pandemic structural budget deficit by prudent fiscal management, including economic development, business revitalization, and new revenue sources.
Parks & Waterways
Our lagoons and waterways are integral to our unique quality of life. I will work to ensure quality parks and preservation of open spaces, while maintaining our beautiful waterways and completion of the levee project.
Infrastructure
We must prioritize the repair of our aging infrastructure, complete our levee and wastewater treatment plant projects and begin the approved Recreation Center rebuild.
Traffic
I will work toward the enhancement of traffic relief programs, prioritize intersection and signal improvements, collaborate with federal, state, and local partners to address the 92 and 101 interchange and solve “last mile” challenges.
Environmental Sustainability
I will continue long-term planning to protect against sea-level rise, address water circulation and contamination issues, prioritize the cleanliness and safety of our beachfronts and work toward diligently toward lower carbon emissions

Durga Puja celebration.
My only hope and prayer is that the way we celebrate and pray goddess Durga, we respect women in our community the same way.
The centerpiece of the event is a beautiful traditional Durga Idol which was handcrafted by artisans in Kolkata, India. This Idol is presented in an elaborate scene which is built and staged by our volunteers with love and care. Prayer services are conducted periodically to honor the Mother Goddess, Durga.
There are cultural events in the evening and food and shopping throughout the day. The event is free and open to the public. In the tradition of Durga Pujas people visit multiple Puja sites. Here in the Bay Area, we are lucky to have over a dozen communities conducting Puja events from Foster City to Santa Clara, San Ramon and beyond.
